JASIRI NEWSLETTER

JULY 2021

An opportunity to catch up with the JASIRI team, welcome new members, celebrate triumphs and learn along the way.

This weekend was meant to be the start of the long-awaited JASIRI residential, but COVID had other ideas and so instead we initiate the online intensive. It was remarkable, both how quickly the situation changed and equally how magnificently the team responded by making the necessary decisions and working hard to make this a world-class online experience.

In talking with one of our key partners this week, they made the comment that this will be, by an order of magnitude, the most difficult of JASIRI cohorts, including a perfect storm of the first attempt, during a pandemic and shifting online at very short notice. But doing hard stuff is what moves the world forward, and it is very encouraging to see how well the team has taken on the challenge. In years to come, we will look back on this with a great sense of achievement. Thank you for your resilience and determination to make things happen in such an uncertain environment. We cannot hope to equip entrepreneurs effectively without being entrepreneurial ourselves. And the team has certainly been that in large measures these last weeks.

The time has come to launch our JASIRI Fellows into responsible entrepreneurship.

Let’s go!

PROGRAM UPDATES

Here’s what Programs Lead, Akaliza Ntwali, had to say about the recent changes:

“I am blown away by how the team has come together and adapted remarkably fast to what could have been a moment of panic. I’ve also gotten very encouraging feedback from the Fellows – many have expressed their thanks for the attention and care that they feel radiating from the team. We have a plan and we have each other. I feel confident that we will be able to deliver an incredible program using whatever resources we have available – online or offline.”
